BE-3172 N. samudera – single clone
First introduced this species to cultivation back in 2006 as ‘Nepenthes sp. # 1’. There are no other species anywhere in the region that would have hybridized to produce something like this, so it is always strongly suspected to be a distinct species and have been waiting ever since for it to be published.
Finally, it was published in February 2024. As this species is data deficient under IUCN guidelines and has not been observed in the wild, it’s possible, even likely, that it may be extinct in the wild due to habitat destruction.
It’s an easy grower with spectacular bulbous, red-striped pitchers which can reach 40 cm (16”) in height.
First introduced to cultivation in 2006.
Horticulturally grown.
From a single clone.
Plants shipped are of the same clone as shown in these photos.
